The Healing Power of Reiki by Raven Keyes

I read this book a while back and I just wanted to share it with others who might have an interest.

Raven Keyes is a Reiki master, teacher and hypnotherapist. She also instructs guided meditation. ‘The Healing Power of Reiki‘ takes you on a journey through different periods in Raven’s life when she was called upon to use Reiki to help others heal. She spent many weeks at Ground Zero right after the tragic events of September 11, 2001. This time was very special to many of the first responders and others who helped to navigate through the rubble to find survivors and the others who were not so lucky. Raven used Reiki to replenish the emergency workers’ energy and to help lessen the horror of the images that would be permanently burned into their memories.

Ms. Keyes has also worked with professional athletes. She has administered Reiki to NBA and NFL players who were suffering from injuries sustained on the court and on the field. Many of these athletes had scoffed at the idea of energy healing, but after the first session, they couldn’t wait to schedule their next session.

Dr. Mehmet Oz has worked side by side with Raven during his surgical procedures. He performed the actual surgery with scalpels and cameras while she performed her own Reiki “surgery”. While Dr. Oz was operating, she beamed Reiki at the patient and at the medical professionals in the room. The patient would be able to come out of anesthesia more smoothly after the surgery as well as have less pain while recovering.

Anyone who is familiar with William Lee Rand will know that he is is the founder of The International Center for Reiki Training. He is quoted in this book, “I recommend this book to anyone wanting a deeper understanding of Reiki and how it can work with conventional medicine”.

I concur.

Side Note: You can click on any of the links within my blog to learn more about Raven Keyes, Dr. Mehmet Oz, or to purchase a copy of this book. I am not receiving any kind of payment for blogging about this book, I just think it is very interesting and gives people a new perspective on integrating Reiki with Western medicine.
